so idk how the hell i started on this but i started talking about a twilight au with @reneewvlkers and here we are. it’s very long and super terrible and the end is a big mess but it is DONE so enjoy

• neil’s mom is remarrying a minor league baseball player so she can keep more under the radar while they’re on the run so neil goes to live with his uncle stuart
  
• who for some reason lives in fucking forks washington (who knows why?? a man from a british crime family staying in washington?? no clue!)
  
• so neil isn’t happy, but his mom was moving and he didn’t want to (honestly i don’t remember why bella goes to live with charlie all too clearly so…) so he ends up living with his uncle who he is estranged from
  
• they had stayed with with stuart before when neil was very young and he vaguely remembers his friend kevin day who he had hung out with a lot when he was a kid
  
• stuart was still good friends with kevin’s mom, kayleigh (they went fishing all the time) so when neil shows up at the house for the first time, he was re-introduced to kevin, who gave him a sort of awkward hug before saying he’d see him at school
  
• it was very awkward living with uncle stuart and neil was grateful to head out to school the next day
  
• when he got to school, a friendly guy named matt showed him around and he ended up sitting next to him at lunch with a couple of his friends (renee, allison, dan, and seth)
  
• throughout lunch they talked a bunch to neil, asking him questions about his life, but neil’s gaze kept being drawn to the group at the other end of the cafeteria
